When homeowners think of the Covenants Department, thoughts often turn into frustration and anger over receiving one of those dreaded violation letters. But honestly, we're here to help!
As you may know, when you purchased your home in the Ewa by Gentry Community Association and signed your deed, you were committing yourself to certain rules and guidelines. The Covenants Department's job is to ensure that everybody is doing their part by following those rules. And guess what, this helps keep your home's value up!
The rules and guidelines that we're talking about here are those printed in the Declaration of Covenants Conditions and Restrictions (DCCRs), a legal document drafted in 1988 by the developer of our community. And thanks to them, we are given the gift of having a neat, clutter-free, and peaceful community to live in.
In addition to establishing the Community Association and its Board of Directors, the DCCRs mandated the formation of the Design Committee. The Design Committee serves to interpret and revise - as necessary over time - the property use, maintenance, and improvement standards for the Community Association.
If you have any questions about the process of enforcing the DCCRs, Design Committee Rules, and/or the Community Living Guidelines please do not hesitate to contact our office. We are here to help as much as possible.
